"God is perfect and you have to be perfected in order to exist with Him. We are not perfect. Sin is ... when you miss the mark. We all are born with this sort of disease and the cure for the disease ... is the blood of Christ." - Patricia Heaton
I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Philippians 1:6
For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

Quote of the day 5/26/11
"Is not the commission of our Lord still binding upon us? Can we not do more than now we are doing?" — William Carey
In such a fast paced world we are expected to be an expert at multitasking and in many cases hold down 2 or more jobs, maintain a quality family life and still find time to sleep. So how can we possibly find time to do more for God? It seems that God gets lost or moved to the bottom of our priority list.
A time of Bible reading, prayer and reflection is essential in this fast paste world in order to maintain balance and focus.
Matthew 6:33
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Quote of the day 5/25/11
“Until we fix the moral deficit we face in America, and the moral impoverishment and the failure to build character and inform conscience, we’ll keep building prisons, and worse then that we will lose our freedom because freedom can’t survive where virtue is not honored and taught.” – Charles Colson
In the interview that Mr. Colson had with Focus on the Family this week, he stressed the importance of teaching the next generation strong morals and values. It is the main thing that will break the generational cycle of grand fathers, fathers and sons in the prison system and other family issues that come up since the decline of the importance of virtue.
I grew up watching TV shows like Leave it to Beaver, The Brady Bunch, Family Ties and Full House. Now I know that these shows were not a real portrayal of the family by any means. However that is not the point. People will watch just about anything that is put in front of them. We tend to mimic or idolize those we see on TV and want to be more like our favorite characters. Today we have “reality” TV shows that are anything but reality. These shows place high importance on rude language and behavior that kids and adults alike come to accept as normal and mimic the bad behavior as if it is OK. This is NOT OK.
The more moral entertainment we produce the more moral people will be produced. Of course, the family needs to be more involved in what they and their kids watch, but let’s give them something that has all the right elements that teach the True moral character of God.
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.

Quote of the Day 5/24/11
“Deciding to discipline yourself to use your time for the purpose of Godliness is not a matter for delay and deliberation.” – Donald S. Whitney
Time seems to be getting shorter every day. In recent months there have been devastating earthquakes, tsunamis, floods and tornadoes. People have lost their lives while planning for tomorrow.
In the news we hear of false profits claiming to know the date of the rapture. Although we may laugh at people like this, we should use this to wake us up to the reality that Christ will be returning. He could come now…or now. The truth is we don’t know when Jesus will return but we do know that the end will enviably be here for each of us. Don’t wait until you are out of time, facing eternity in the face and wondering where the time went. Create that artwork or animation today. Write that script or book today. Meet that need you neighbor has needed for some time, today. Call mom today. Share the Good News today.
Work to glorify God today!
Proverbs 24:33-34
A little extra sleep, a little more slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest—
then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit;
scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.

Quote of the Day 5/23/11
"When you put faith, hope and love together, you can raise positive kids in a negative world."
- Zig Ziglar
This quote by Zig Ziglar puts things in perspective. When you produce entertainment with a positive or inspirational message the result is bound to be a positive and inspired audience. Since the highest percentage of the audience for animation is kids, the next generation of leaders, I think this should inspire us to produce entertainment with a more positive message.
Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go,
Even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Quote of the day 5/20/11
“This is God’s universe and He does things His way. You may have a better way but you don’t have a universe.” - J. Vernon McGee
This quote is meant to humble us. The ultimate answer to the questions “Why did God…” or “Why does God…” is because God is God!
It’s not wrong to question God, in the Bible David does this a lot, but it is important that we listen to God’s answer. Often times we question God but do not want to listen to or except His answer.
Question God…but be prepared to listen and except His answer in humble obedience.
Take 10 minutes or so to watch this video post by Francis Chan. I hope it inspires you to focus more on God. I feel that He is calling us to be more active witnesses. The video is 9 minutes 42 seconds, but you really need to take a minute to reflect on this message and to what God might be asking of you.

Isaiah 55:8-9
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways," declares the LORD.
"For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts than your thoughts."

Quote of the day 5/18/11
“I don’t like conflict…but as a Christian you realize that there isn’t a neutral zone you can hang out in…as a Christian, my responsibility is to be faithful to God, to live for an audience of One person, and that’s Jesus” – Kirk Cameron
Today’s quote is from an interview I listened to with Kirk Cameron talking about his faith and his work in entertainment when he first came to believe.
In being called to spread the Word of God, I often think about how our faith affects others, especially family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers…anyone you are close to. It can be a bit scary not knowing how people will react, but it really all comes down to what Jesus taught us to do…to share the Good News of eternal life…and remember that the Spirit is in us, always present and always working…we are not alone in our faith walk.
2 Corinthians 5:20
Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

Quote of the Day 5/17/11
“The most important thing is you have to have hope, you have to have faith, you have to commit (to what) you are doing. It’s a big thing. It’s nice for God. He looks down and goes “I’m very, very happy with what you just did.” - Bailee Madison 11 years old.
In searching for inspiration for today’s verse I remembered a website a friend sent me called iamsecond.com.
This is a really great site where people in different professions, some who are famous, share their testimony. That’s when I came across the young actress Bailee Madison. What a true inspiration for all Christians to hear this little girl speak so openly and candidly about her faith in God. She understands that God is the One who is really in control of her life even when things get difficult or things don’t turn out the way she would want.
Take a few moments today and watch some of these testimonies on iamsecond.com, Including Bailee’s. These testimonies speak about on being humble and how we are second and God is first in every part of your life.
I pray that Bailee continues to be so openly about her faith and that we too can be as open about the special gifts God granted us…most importantly the gift of our salvation.

Matthew 18:4
Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Quote of the day 5/16/11
"Before we assert the claim to speak for God, we need to realize the humility that comes with that kind of responsibility. Too often when Christians say “thus saith the Lord,” it’s in reality, only what THEY want." – Phil Cooke
Phil Cooke is completely right. We need to keep ourselves in check.
Before creating this blog and Facebook group, I prayed a lot for God to give me direction. I still do this daily. It is so important for me to make sure I keep the main thing the main thing. It is far too easy, especially in the entertainment industry, to make you out to be more important then everyone else…to self promote rather then promote Christ.
This mentality seems to be encouraged in entertainment. We see it at the awards shows and trophies given out for personal achievement. It is not wrong to show your appreciation to those who have done a good job, but it is wrong when that recognition becomes the most important.
You can become prideful and step on others while trying to make your way to the top…even to the point of using your Christianity to promote you or your agenda.
On many occasions we hear the winners at these award ceremonies thank God. This may have been genuine at one point, but it has now become cliché. It is a shame because it makes it more difficult for those who are really living and working for Christ to be taken seriously.
Of course this kind of mentality is not limited to the entertainment industry. It’s in every profession including ministry. But the point is we need to keep our intentions genuine.
When setting off to do the work of Christ, it is important to pray, study God’s Word and fellowship so that we know that Christ is working on us.
Matthew 28:19-20
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Quote of the day 5/12/11
"I went into television because I hated it so. And I thought there was some way of using this fabulous instrument to be of nurture to those who would watch and listen."
- Fred Rogers AKA Mr. Rogers
I came across this quote while searching for inspirational quotes by Christians in entertainment. Fred Rogers "Mr. Rogers" has influenced many generations, or at least gave us fond memories of our childhood. This being the case you can imagine how happy I was, and yet not surprised, that Mr. Rogers was a Christian.
Take time to read this article and watch this video I found and reflect on your roll in this industry and what your influence and legacy will be.

Quote of the day 5/11/11
“How much do you have to hate somebody to believe that everlasting life is possible and not tell them that?” - Penn Jillette (Atheist)
It’s amazing how much the view point of an atheist can bring to light the need for Christians to be more out spoken about our faith. More and more we hear individuals, groups, our government and other nations speaking out against Christianity and the morals and values of the Bible but we sit idly by and say or do nothing. Sure, God’s Word speaks for itself but who will hear if it’s not spoken?
Romans 10:14
How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?
I often reflect on Penn Jillette’s statement when I feel uncomfortable sharing my faith with someone. Some times we need to step out of our comfort zone, our Christian bubble, and share the Good News with others.
I say…How much do you love someone to share the Truth and reality of eternal life through Jesus Christ?
Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

Quote of the day 5/10/11
“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” (Howard Thurman).
Howard Thurman was an influential American author, philosopher, theologian, educator and civil rights leader. He was Dean of Theology and the chapels at Howard University and Boston University for more than two decades, wrote 20 books, and in 1944 helped found a multicultural church.

I find that it is always good to read and study the great men and women who have come before us.
Proverbs 9:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
